I was born into a Jewish faith family. I went to Hebrew School twice a week for eight years where a kind and wise Rabbi taught our history. I enjoyed many Saturdays in synagogue feeling connected to community. And then, at 15 years old, during a holiday service, I heard (within my consciousness) the question: “Are you sheep?”. From that moment on, my personal journey with the Divine began. Because, after all this time in religious study, my faith did not give me faith in the Creator. Over the next few years, I had multiple discussions with interfaith religious leaders and came to the conclusion that I was unable to figure out if God exists. But, what I did form was the perspective that a true tenet of Source was to be kind and loving. And hence, I started on a spiritual path outside of the tribal, exclusive beliefs of organized religion to find my relationship to God and how to be a conduit of love. Teachers arrived, books were gifted and I followed the breadcrumbs that nourished my soul. I allowed my heart to show me the way. With every interaction, every challenge and every feeling I learned more about myself, my choices, my perspectives and my relationship with Source. My heart led me to this knowing because my mind was incapable of grasping the “idea” of God.
I have come to understand love as unconditional acceptance and allowance. The witness that ALL is of Source. And instead of learning to believe in God, I surrendered into union with it. For the Creator is always available and accessible. My journey led me home.
I offer this small window of experience so that you can trust yourself and your heart to lead you home, back to the Source of All Things and back to the truth of who and what you are.
