Rising in Love
Why do we curse
with bitter thoughts
and make a point
to think the worst?
How hard is it
to say kind words
that once heard
will soothe a heart?
Our time has come
when being right
does not matter
in the slight.
And being harsh,
striking back,
can make ourselves
feel under attack.
In love, we rise.
It sets us free
to treat each other
with dignity.
We see the beauty,
the truth in all and
witness our divinity.
As love, we act
compassionately
and live our lives
with humility.
For if we falter,
go astray,
it is with love
we find the way
back to our home,
a place to be
in safety, in peace,
in unity.
